Description
The Moon is Roman Numeral XVIII or number 18 which reduces down to number 9 pairing with the Hermit. As such the Moon also symbolizes power, process, integration, and accomplishments. The Moon is capable of inspired thought. She is all about ritual, process and integration. She is intuitive, independent, high minded and idealistic. Deep in the forest, a woman performs a ritual under the phases of the moon. She holds a crystal ball in her left hand through which she is offered clarity into the mysteries. She uses her crystal wand to invoke her guides and the four elements. Incense smoke fills the air as she lights a spiral candle, the uplifting nature of her ritual charges up a cluster of crystals increasing her vibration. The moon, reflected in the water filled bowl, reminds us that the Moon’s light is only a reflection of the source, the Sun. Her unconscious desires, represented by the crab, crawl out from the depths of the water into the moonlight. However all is not as it seems, appearances can be distorted in the light of the moon. What might seem to be a friendly dog could, in the light of day, be a snarling wolf. In addition to deception by others, the Moon must beware of her own self-deception. She can make all the magic she wants, but if she doesn’t see the situation for what it really is, her magic will be wasted.
